  ALL ABOUT MEDIGAP MAMA

For True Peace of Mind

At Medigap Mama, each of our clients is unique. That’s why we don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach to offering Medicare or Social Security. We provide individual solutions for each client and serve as advocates should you need to file a claim. Get in touch and find out why so many clients have turned to us for help and assurance from someone who has been in the business for 25+ years.

Your enrollment in a plan with me begins a (business) relationship. I will always answer your questions and return phone calls. If you ever call me and I do NOT return your call or text within 24 hours, I did NOT receive your call/text. Call /text me again. You are not bothering me. I prefer to answer your questions rather than a customer service rep attempting to answer your questions.

MEET WANDA KEMP - MEDIGAP MAMA

ASK MAMA - I BET SHE KNOWS!

When Wanda's Father passed, she helped her Mother. Like most people, Wanda found Medicare to be complex and confusing, with no good answers. So she decided to get her Insurance Life and Health license to work in the Medicare products arena.

Her Mother asked her to help other little old ladies as she helped her, so here she is still today...

Since 2005 and 2006, I have represented Medicare products. My husband has been enrolled in a Medicare plan for about 12/13 years. I am in a Medicare plan.  So, we walk the walk. We live the plans.

We try to explain how Medicare works and how the benefits of the plans impact you. We always ask a lot of nosy questions. Medicines, Medical providers, etc.

With Medicare and the plans, it is the little things- the nuances- that get you. Things that you don't know that you don't know.

Your enrollment in a plan with me is the beginning of a (business) relationship. I will always answer your questions and return phone calls. If you ever call me and I do NOT return your call or text within 24 hours, I did NOT receive your call/text. Call /text me again. You are not bothering me. I would prefer to answer your questions rather than a customer service rep attempt to answer your questions.

Do not enroll via an 800 number or a website. You will not have the support of an experienced agent to answer questions or to show you how to maximize your benefits.

Medicare is Federal Health Insurance for those aged 65 and up or for those under 65 with certain disabilities.

  • Hospital or Part A

  • Medical or Part B

  • Medicare Advantage or Part C

  • Prescription Drug Coverage or Part D

Part A has no premium if you have worked 40 quarters. It has a deductible of about $1700 (changes every year).

Part B has a premium of $164.90 (changes every year) and a deductible of about $134 (changes every year). Your Part B premium is tied to your income. Social Security will notify you if your premium is higher.

Part  C  or Medicare Advantage Plan may or may not have a premium or deductible for healthcare. It may also include prescription drug coverage with or without a deductible.  Medicare Advantage covers ALL of the benefits and services of Parts A and B. Medicare Advantage plans usually take away healthcare deductibles and give you a max out-of-pocket. Some PPOs "hide" or their deductibles are not readily apparent.

Part D is prescription drug coverage.  You may buy a stand-alone prescription plan, or one may be included in your Medicare Advantage Plan. Not all Medicare Advantage plans include drug coverage. And you cannot add a drug plan to ALL Medicare Advantage plans without drug coverage.  Part D premium is linked to Part B increase because of income (IRMMA)

If you do not add a Part D within 63 days of losing your employer group coverage or aging into Medicare, you will be penalized 1 percent of the national average cost of a Part D times the number of months that you did not have a Part D. You have that penalty for as long as you are enrolled in Medicare unless you qualify for Low Income Subsidy(LIS) or Extra Help with the Cost of Rx.

Medicare Supplements are ancillary or are an addition to Medicare Parts A and B. They cover some of the deductibles and copays and provide a max out-of-pocket. Some folks are overinsured with Supplements. If you choose a Supplement, you should add a Rx plan.

Medicare has many, many choices with many, many twists and turns. Let us help you to narrow your choices logically with your best interests in mind. We always try to help you find the best value without compromising your healthcare choices.

Let Medicare Mama/ Medigap Mama help you. She will always explain your benefits and how they impact you. Mama is always available to answer questions when needed.
